In 2012 I signed up for membership at Planet Fitness. After one billing catastrophe after another (I was not being charged Vitality rates as was the agreement) I was unable to reach ANYONE to assist me with this. The manager was never there and never returned calls. Desperate, I went into the gym and waited until I was helped- reluctantly. I was told in July that my membership had finally been cancelled and thought that was the end of it.
Last week I got an email from Discovery saying that I was about to lose my discount at the gym (at which i am no longer a member) as far as I was aware I am no a member of the gym any longer! I CANNOT reach Garth, the manager, on the phone and when I went into the gym to speak to him he was "unavailable". I waited for him for over an hour. This is completely unacceptable- and I am going to go to the Consumer Complaints Commission. I have never encountered such shocking, dismissive service; and I have never been ignored as a customer.
