At the beginning of January my account was debited with R425, even though I am a Discovery Vitality member. When I enquired about this I was told that I was kicked off the Medical Aid and therefore am now a member without the benefit. I was previously a dependant on my mother's vitality but was on my own vitality from the 1st of January, which is the same day that I was transferred off my mother's medical Aid. I was then told that I have to pay an activation fee of R1050 in order to receive the discount, which is ridiculous as I never stopped being a member of either Virgin Active or Discovery Vitality, so what is there to activate? Caroline at Virgin Active Menlyn said she would sort it out after I had to phone Vitality myself from the gym, to no avail. Robert, the manager, assured me that I would know by today if it has been sorted out, but it still hasn't been. I am now being threatened with the full amount being debited from my account again for February even though everyone agrees with me that it is unfair. It has now been two and a half weeks since my original enquiry and I am still struggling to get it resolved, and every time I go to the gym I get told to wait another day!
