A number of years ago I signed a gym contract with Planet Fitness in 2008. The payment terms was over 3 months, which I settled after 2 months. A year into my membership the gym sent me a statement stating that I had not settled the outstanding amount. I showed proof of payment, and thought that was that. It was a year later that again the gym contacted me looking for an outstanding balance, and again I showed proof that we had indeed settled the amount. When the contact expired a number of years ago I thought "good riddance", as I had had enough of their bad admin. Then, 1 month ago, I noticed that Planet Fitness had debited my account to the tune of R250. I brought this to their attention, once again showing them the proof of payment and they said they would look into it. Since then, a further 2 debit orders have come off my account, both for R250! It is now 5 YEARS LATER, and they are claiming that we owe them almost DOUBLE than what the cost of the membership was when I signed the contract. It has been a full week, and still nothing has been done to rectify their bungling!!! They then have tried to pull a fast one that we are on a AUTO RENEWAL package. What!
