I had a contract with Planet Fitness which came to an end on 25 May 2013. I personally visited the branch in Witbank on 4 May 2013 to confirm that I do not want my membership to be renewed at the end of the month. I completed a cancellation request. I never received any feedback and Planet Fitness still debited my account. I phoned Planet Fitness and requested that the debit order by reversed and cancelled. The debit order was reversed. The next month the membership fee was deducted again, and after various phone calls reversed again. I was promised that the accounts department would contact me to confirm cancellation. On 17 November 2013 Planet Fitness debited a different amount from my account and sent me statement that my account is R1'605.42 in arrears. This is apparently due to an auto renewal of my membership. I am not willing to pay this amount as it was never mentioned to me that my account had been renewed. Please assist.
