Edgars Incapable of FICA account

I have had an Edgar's account for close on 26 years. For the past 4 months I have been attempting to FICA my account. What a FRUSTRATING experience!
The first time I arrived at Edgar's Fourways I was told that a copy of my ID and a letter from Edgar's with my address was perfect. A couple of weeks later I received an SMS stating there was a problem. Back I went and was told that a letter from Edgar's was not good enough? So back I went a third time with a TT license renewal statement. I was assured my account was now unblocked. No such luck. The next time I shopped I was told to FICA your account. Back I went upstairs. 48 minutes later I was told, yet again my account was unblocked. On Saturday 13 April guess what?. Sorry your account is blocked, go upstairs and FICA it!

Does Edgar's no longer want to have account holders? I was told its not them it's Absa with whom they bank. I cannot believe that a loyal customer can be treated like this. I am now considering closing my account of 26 years as I can no longer be bothered to deal with the run around that never seems to solve anything.

Edgars should be committed to keeping a customer whose account has never been in arrears!
