I opened my Edgars account in 1980. In all these years I've never been in arrears with my monthly installment or non-payment of my account. Oct '12 I received a sms indicating that I have to FICA at my nearest Edgars store. That same day I got all the documents ready and went to Edgars Westgate to FICA. Due to the fact that me and my wife have a joined Edgars account I was informed she also have to FICA. She went to FICA at Edgars Westgate. We both received a sms on 25 Oct '12 from Edcon thanking us that we have successfully FICA our account. My last purchase was on 7 Feb '13 and the transaction was approved. On 31 March '13 I went to Edgars Westgate to do some shopping. I stood in a long queue at the pay point to pay and eventually when I got to a till point I was told that my card was blocked due the fact that I did not FICA my account. I find it strange-what about the sms we've received, confirming that our Edgars account was successfully FICA. I went to Customer Services where I had to wait in another long queue and was again informed about non-FICA of my account. Now my question is how many times must one FICA your Edgars account??? Think it is high time I close my account!!!
