My name is Anja van Staveren. I was in checkers on 06 April 2013. I was doing my monthly shopping. One of the employees there dropped something (a banna bread), being a nice person I picked it up for her. I put my wallet into my cart thinking it will be fine since it is in my view to pick it up.
When I looked again my wallet was gone! I immediatly went to security and reported the incident. Security replied that what must they do and how is it their problem. I then asked them to call the store manager. I waited about 15 minutes for the manager to arrive. I reported what had happened to the manager and her first response to my horror was that, she does not see how this is her problem. I then said that it happened in your store and since there are no signs stating beware of shop lifters or enter at own risk it was her concern. She then replied by saying that this happened on friday to a other lady and that there were 2 suspected people in the store strealing from customers. I could not believe my ears.
If you as a business know that you have such an eliment in your store surely you would do anything to protect your customers. So i lost R1200.00.
