On 19 Oct 2012, I received a notification about FICA. The email had a link to Edgars where I could register for FICA on line. I immediately submitted my info to Edgars as per their request. The cut off date was 31 Oct 2012. I purchased from Edgars in Nov and Dec 2012 - with no problems. On Friday 8 March I go to Jet Stores on Van Riebeeck Rd in Edenvale to buy my daughter a gift and I am told my account is suspended because I did not register for FICA. The lady at the till tried to call Customer Service but after waiting 40 minutes on the phone, I was fed up and ended up paying cash (there is no Customer Service - shocking). From October last year till now, I received no notification or phone calls to say my account is not registered for FICA. During the Dec silly season, Edgars was ok to allow the sales on my account. Why is FICA registration/block only applicable now and not 31 Oct as per their email??? Disgusted in their poor administration!!!
