After 23 months my Samsung DVD player packed up. No lighting, wasn't even being used at the time. With only one year warranty, I immediately lost confidence in the brand. I had bought this unit from Dion Wired in Bedfordview - Another retailer had sent me their weekly special SMS a couple of days before offering huge discounts - but they didn't have stock etc etc (I simply have lost faith in them after earlier experiences of these great offers with no stock!).
So, DVD player under arm, I went back to Dion Wired - fortunately, I was met by the Sales Manager, Percy Ngonyana, who confirmed that the warranty had expired, but felt that Samsung was a great product and it was certainly worthwhile sending it in for them to look at. To cut a long story short, I left the store with a new Samsung product (after Mr Ngonyana's support of them) at the same price as offered by the VERY special promotional price of the other retailer (who had no stock and I don't believe anymore), my faith restored in Samsung and a very strong loyalty to Dion Wired due to Mr Percy Ngonyana. What a turnaround! Well done Sir! I have sent my old unit in anyway - will be interesting to see what Samsung say.
