How to lose a customer for life

After having an account with Edgars for many, many years I was requested to "RICA" the account in order to get a new card. After spending nearly an hour in the stuffy offices and filling out forms I was handed a new-look card. Some time lapsed before I was in need of new clothes. On Monday I went to the Carnival Mall (where the card was issued) Edgars and selected some items. When the clerk behind the counter swiped the card she promptly handed it back to me with the words: "Your card is not "RICA"..."Next please.." So, I was dismissed like that! Thank you Edgars, please go and add up what I have spent over the past thirty odd years and know what you have lost. Sadly many business complain of a lack of business turnover yet they treat customers like! If your processes and staff are ineffective and ill mannered then I am afraid you may lose more customers.
