Poor security and poor feedback

My card details were used unbeknown to me. Edgars phoned asking whether I had made this purchase. I said no and then followed a long (3 month) drawn out process to get another card. Bar the first call from Edgars, I had no further contact i.e. I had to figure out what to do along the way. After repeated visits to the branch, a new card was issued to me. After 2 weeks I tried to use the card, but was told it was blocked. I reported this incident to customer services via email on 11.11., received a reply 13.11 and then nothing. Followed up again, again was told it would be dealt with. Last email from Edgars 3.12. My account is still blocked.
a. Why did Edgars not get hold of CNA Vryheid where my details were used?
b. How can someone use my details without my card?
c. How can my account be blocked if Edgars issued me with a new card?
d. I have been a client for over 20 years. Edgars is inconvenienced with the, I am inconvenienced with the running around. I am doing my bit to sort this out, Edgars most certainly is not and I am now really frustrated at dealing with call centres with no power.
