We have just had another tremendous increase in the fuel price which will be affecting us, the ordinary man in the street adversely. I have recently travelled to Namibia and what stood out was the fact that petrol in the remote regions were cheaper than in South Africa. I believe that the public is overwhelmed with increase and taxes. Thusfar we, the public have been very patient / reluctant to object to these increases because this is our government. However poverty is on the increase as prices are escalating and people are finding it difficult to survive. This is a time bomb and it can explode at any moment! The French public staged violent /massive strikes for the same reason but our will be worst because it will encompass various other spheres which is dependant on the fuel industry.
l think we should mobilize and biokot a fuel company per month eg. Caltex etc i.o.w buy fuel for that month from other companies. They inturn will talk to Government about increases and Government can talk to them about producing better grades of fuel eg diesel because we soon may have to pay emmission taxes too. SOON WE WILL HAVE TO ACT. Please voice your opinion in this regard, thanks!
