In early November 2013 I went into a store (Cape Gate Shopping Centre, Brakenfell) and requested a new Woolworths store card, as mine was misplaced. The lady issued me with a temporary card and I assumed a new card would be on its way to the store within the next few weeks and I would be contacted to collect it, as is normal protocol for all retail stores. On 23 December, during the last Christmas rush, I went into the same store and it being festive season, I stood in a long queue to make payment for my goods and was told I could no longer use the temporary card I was issued with as it was only valid for 30 days and had expired. I was directed to Customer Service. Even after standing in those very long queues, I politely took my goods and went to stand in another long queue at Customer Service. I explained my story to the lady behind the counter and she then informed me that in actual fact, another card was not ordered for me as I previously thought at my first issue of temporary card, but that she would do the necessary and order me a new card and at the same time issue me another temporary card so that I could make my purchases.
It's now Feb and still no card. PATHETIC.
