Bad service with correcting their own mistake

I decided to go to Pick & Pay instead of Checkers Sea Point where I normally shop on Monday 30 December 2013, 18h30 to purchase a kettle for a rental property. The Mellerware kettle was marked R150 on the shelve and I was charged R199 at the till. I did not notice the price difference at the till and paid with my c/card and left the store. When I got home I checked my SMS from FNB and noticed I was overcharged. I went back all the way to inform them of the mistake.
The lady at the till checked the shelve and admitted they made a mistake and said the "get free policy for incorrectly marked items" is no longer valid but they give double the difference back. She send me to another counter where they would do the correction.
The lady there only refunded me the overcharged difference. When I asked her so no compensation for the mistake and my petrol for coming back, she asked me where I lived and I replied, Sea Point.
Then she said "oh but then it couldn't have cost me more than R5 in petrol so it's ok"??

No apology either...

I took the kettle, left and realized why I shop at Checkers!
