I bought my wife a Garmin FR 70 watch from Trappers in Pietermaritzburg Liberty Midlands Mall on the 5th of December 2012. A couple of months ago the battery got flat, and because we know that only Garmin can replace the battery, we took it to Trappers in PMB so that they can send it to Garmin. At Trappers Chantelle told us that they have a guy working there that use to work for Garmin and that he can replace the battery. My wife insisted that Garmin must replace the battery, but still it was replaced by Trappers themselves. After my wife got back the watch it was leaking. Every time she showered or swam it got water inside. She then took it back to Trappers PMB and they said they will send it to Garmin. A few days later they called and said that it's fixed. After the first shower it was full of moisture again! I don't believe that it was ever sent to Garmin! We then took it to Trappers in Bethlehem and eventually they sent it to Garmin, but we had to pay R150 for the transport. Garmin then called and said that they see that the watch was opened and damaged and is not covered by the warranty and that my wife will have to buy a new one. This is very unprofessional by Trappers PMB.
