I am a 60yr old challenged senior citizen. On Saturday morning the 23rd of November, I went to the Edgars to purchase my daughter an early Birthday present, a new cell phone.
I travelled by bus and foot which is a mission for me, as I am walking with a crutch and have physical pain.
I let my daughter choose which cellphone she would like, the word from the consultant was that I could not do the purchase as I did not have my ID with me. A manager named Carmen was called and gave us information about RICA and the phone has to be activated in store, and the mobile store is a third party... etc.
This woman had a complete lack of respect! She raised her voice towards my daughter who was making a point that she only wants a phone, not a new sim card.
Also I am regarded as a Senior citizen, with a disability. Surely there is some way they could get my identification, from my account records (which Edgars should have). It is struggle for me to get to the shops again. Is there no system in place for this sort of customer issues?
She then called a "manager" Shaheen, who had the same unwillingness to help or go the extra mile.By this time I was sweating, the lifts/escalators are broken
