Woolworths
Samsung Sale gone bad

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Chat from the Cellular outlet inside Woolworths Eastrand Mall on Friday 25 October 2013. I specifically bought this phone from Woolworths because I needed a good quality business handset on a pay as you go basis, from a reputable retailer, while an insurance claim on my primary handset is pending.

It was also important to remain with my current service provider MTN.

The handset was faulty from the start. Woolworths referred me to MTN, MTN to Samsung, Samsung told me the supplier must swap it out for a new handset and so the buck is passed!

Sumsung did acknowledge the problem is common to the model and that the handset should replaced. Woolworths blatantly refuses and wants to send it for repair even though I have only had the handset for four days. Clear cut matter for Consumer Protection commissioner.

The Woolworths manager was rude and displayed no intention to resolve my problem despite the fact that it is common practise for any cellular provider to swap out faulty handsets within seven working days of purchase.
