Incovenient policies that clients are not made awa

Card blocked without my knowledge, asked to unblock it and it could not be without me going into a store! Asked to speak to a manger but ofcourse the manager didn't take the call but gave authority to call agent to have it blocked. Its sad but unless someone complains nothing will be done. What's the point of having a card to purchase with signature if they need to call to confirm the transaction late at night from a private #? Why don't the staff just check I'd before processing transactions, wouldn't that be better security than calling someone?
