I've always been impressed with the service I receive from the staff at Woolworths, Cape Town, Golden Acre until today. I bought a bottle of sparkling water along with come other goodies, 5 seconds after leaving the store I opened the bottle to take a sip - to my horror the water burst out (the bottle was obviously shook or roughly handled before going on-shelf). Soaking not only my trousers and chiffon shirt but also my cell phone and purse. I don't know what was worse, standing in the crowed Golden Acre with my under garments now showing or the lack of interest shown by a Wendy someone at the cashiers till (I didn't manage to speak to her, she was on the phone), I then went to Customer Services till to get a refund. The cashier, Denise Golding, was helpful and sympathetic (I appreciated her help with drying off my soaked belongings).
I got a refund on the water but the bitter taste of humiliation is still left in my mouth.
