I visited Shoprite on 6 October 2013 to purchase a few things my son needed for a field trip. The cashier scanned my goods and when it was time to pay I handed her my debit card to pay for purchase. She told me to go to the till / cashier (2 or 3 tills further) to pay with my card as her speed point is not working. When I handed my card to the cashier where I was told to go, cashier number 2 said I must bring the slip! So now I must go back to cashier number 1 to fetch my slip. Back at cashier number 2 with my slip I must again wait in line just to pay? I was furious and even though the so called supervisor was standing next to me when all of this happened she did not once apologise for this very unprofessional and rude behaviour. When I asked her why no signs were visible to indicate that their speed points are not working, she walked away to attend to another customer. This however is not the first time that speed points / card machines are not working, it happened more than 5 times in the previous 3 months. No signs or notices are put up to indicate that the card machines are not working. Shoprite makes a habit of wasting peoples time!
