On Saturday, 26/01/13, after purchasing toiletries, among them 2 x Lifebouy handwashes, I left Dischem with their store catalogue. After packing away my toiletries, I happened to browse the catalogue and noticed that a Lifebuoy Handwash (200ml) = free soap.
I was quite surprised as I had purchased 2 h/w but there was NO SIGNAGE to say that I could get the free soap, nor did the cashier pick it up. No problem, as I would be in the Mall's area the next day and it wouldn't be a problem for me to pick up my two soaps.
Was I wrong! I got to the refund till and asked for my two soaps. The woman at the till informed me that "new procedure" is that the videotapes be scrutinised. It would take 5 minutes. My response, "You are going to alienate me for R22? " Anyway, I had no choice but to wait for 10 MIN while tapes were scrutinised to see whether I had received the soap. The cameraman couldn't find the tapes and the woman had to read from my till slip items purchased. This was so humiliating and unnecessary. there were personal items on the list. I am so disappointed with this unnecessary inquisition! Dischem. I would not spend R900 then try to "score" 2 soaps. EPIC FAIL DISCHEM!
