Hello Peter,

Please kindly assist in resolving the following matter. A account was opened on my name in one of Ackermans branches in South Africa. After receiving an SMS in 19 June 2013 stating that I owe them, I have been trying to resolve the matter. I discovered that other accounts had also been opened in my name.

I addressed the matter through ITC and other retail stores investigated the matter apologised for the error. However, I have had no joy with Ackermans. They forward a ID copy to ITC and even after ITC sent them my certified ID and affidavits they did not correct this. I am not going to do running around for Ackermans! They say it is their procedures that require so much information, yet it is the very same procedures thar allowed the account to be opened in the first place, so they must sort out thier own gabbage I am not in their payroll!!

Is Ackerman's SA above Law? Are these practices still within our SA's NCR & NCA in which all retail stores must comply to?

How can you be held liable for an account that you never opened? I demand a written letter of apology from Ackermans to clarify this issue!
