Warranty not explained enough

I bought an LG Microwave on 27/05/2012, at Game in Festival Mall the microwave was fine until last month when it stopped spinning but can still warm up food, because i moved places twice since buying this product. I then took it to Game in Brits where they told me that they can't fix it without a slip, i told them that i didn't know of that, of which i didn't, nobody explained that to me.
I have a slip that has faded i only see the company name and when i tell them of that they say they can't use it
On the product, there's a sticker showing that the warranty is 2 3 years making it 5 years and i only had the microwave for 1 year 3 months
I told them to keep the microwave as i will have to get the receipt from where i'd bought it as they suggested.
Now festival mall tells me they can't help me as they cant find anything on the system.
I have a date which i purchased it as i used my credit card, i've got the serial number as well so i dont know what is so difficult for them to repair this thing, now i'm told i must pay R500 for repairs or R125 for rejection which was never mentioned as well
I wonder how many people loose warranty because of piece of paper that should be on the system
