Bad after sales service

The company I work for bought a microwave by Game Goodwood at N1 City. We bought the microwave on 28 December 2012. The microwave broke and on 09 December 2013 we handed it in to the store to be repaired becasue it was still within the warranty period. After a long wait we were informed last week that now we have to pay a service fee to fix the mircrowave as it was handed in to their suppliers after the warranty period.

Firstly, we handed the microwave in well before the warranty expired. I dont see why we must pay to have the mircrowave fixed when we handed it in while the warranty was still in effect but because they handed it to their supplier late we must pay to have it fixed?

Anyway, we asked them to send us a quote for this service fee as our company procurement rules are very strict and we havent received the quote yet either.
