Confusion and poor service from Edcon

I applied for an account with Edcon in May 2013 and they took time to respond to my application and after I had forgotten about the application someone phoned my workplace to confirm. After they did that they called me to say my account has been approved and i should go to the branch with my Passport and permit. I took it to the Eastgate branch and only to be told you need your bank statement. I went and got my bank statement gave them only to find out that they didn't need it because my place of work had confirmed. They then asked for my passport which they faxed through and asked me to come back the next day to collect my card. I went back the next day and I was told something different. I called the head office wanting to find out what was going on and only to be told that my account was rejected because I did not meet their minimum requirements. I then asked what the minimum requirements where and I was told I should not ask these questions. I then asked to speak to the manager and a consultant called Patience responded to my query and she told me she will get back to me till now. Aah what an experience I wonder if its cause I am a foreign national, just saying!
