I bought a 10kW PETROL GENERATOR 380V oct 2011. On the 22nd of April 2013 it stopped working. Motor was running but not generating powier. I phoned Sybie, he assured me that it is the AVR and I should bring in the generator they will replace the AVR in shop. The following day we took the generator. The correct AVR was not available so they tried a different AVR but the wiring was different. Sybie said they need to sent the generator to their workshop in JHB.A week later a lady at HQ said the altenator had to be rewired and the piston rings had to be replaced. I found this strange as there were no indication that there were any problem with the rings. No smoking or using of oil. I did not want the alternator rewired and asked for a new altenator, but was told that it was to expensive to import spares. I asked that the generator be sent back to centurion. At this stage I found out that Adendorffs does not have a workshop, but make use of a contractor. I had the generator sent elswhere, they supplied me with new AVR and everything was back to normal. I spent R 8000 in generator hire and want Adendorff to take responsibilty. This could have been avoided!!!
