On 26th October 2013, my husband bought a generator for our employee who lives on our smallholding. It was at a price of R2000.00. Not even a week later, our employee told us that the generator no longer works. Nothing wrong with the motor, but it wouldn't run anything, TV, Video or DVD player. As this is the only way him and his family can enjoy their viewing, it was very frustrating, not only for him, but for my husband as well. Especially as the soccer was on and he is an avid Kaiser Chiefs fan. On taking the generator back the following weekend, the Indian owner shrugged his shoulders and asked if we had read the fine print - NO REFUNDS, NO EXCHANGES AND NO GUARANTEE. Now how can he sell electronic equipment ie: generators, televisions, radios etc with no comeback at all. What I would like to know is how many other people less fortunate than oursleves, has he defrauded. I know he won't answer this, but if I can stop other people from being caught like we were then I feel I have done something.
