I purchased a Whirlpool dishwasher in November last year. The machine features 9 spray areas, an adjustable glass rack for larger dinner plates, a cutlery rack and multi-zone washes, ie you can wash either the top or the bottom zone individually. As it transpires the adjustable rack and multi-zone features are in fact essential, as a standard 27cm plate does not fit in the bottom rack if the top one is not raised. When the top rack is raised nothing larger than a tumbler fits in it. After a long search I found plates that were 25.5cm in dia in order to be able to wash glasses and plates at the same time. After logging a service call I was told that these plates were still too big, the spray arm was hooking on them during washing, leaving soap in the dispenser and dishes that aren't clean. The only way that one can wash glasses and plates is with 2 separate washes, which is neither practical nor desirable considering the price of the machine! Apart from this, the glass rack is badly designed, the glasses fall over when sliding the rack in or out and wine glasses don't fit upright in it. I have left messages for a manger to call, but the courtesy of a call has not been received.
