I settled my account but game says I still owe the

I have an account with game and was in arrears which led to the account being handed over to MBD. In May I called game because I wanted to settle my account to get the closing balance. I was told my account is no longer with the store but has been handed over to MBD attorneys,
I contacted MBD and spoke to Moses Kotsi. I told him I need a settlement amount for my account. I got the letter and made the final and full settlement as per the letter.
A month later I contacted MBD and requested a paid up letter and I was advised that I need to call game as my account was sent back to them. I phoned game customer care and was told I still owe R3000 in the account. I explained to the gentleman that was assisting me (Udene) that I got a paid up letter and settled my account. He even asked me to fax the settlement letter, which I did. He told me that I must phone MBD to call them so that they can write off the oustanding amount because the account was settled. I phoned MBD, now I'm told "you paid what was in arrears not settling the account". I told Thandi the letter said "full and final settlemt".
