Returning of goods

On saturday 8 June I went to Makro to return a Defy hoover which was broken and Themba refused to take it back because he said it is not their fault. He said I am the one who broke it. I bought the set of stove in January 2013 and I only attempted to install the stove last week during the week because the house was still being built. He said he will not take it back. I still have the receipts and he said he can't help me. I asked him what must I do with a boken hoover because I took long to open it and he said it is not their fault. I want a new Defy hoover since that one is broken and the is nothing I can do with it. Yes he did see that it was still new but he still refused to take it. I WANT THE MATTER TO BE RESOLVED.
