Unusable product and zero service

We purchased a Gobii from Kalahari for our daughter so that she could download books onto it to read. She bought the Lord of the Rings e-book to download onto her Gobii but it wouldn't download. She can read it from my PC alright but what is the point of that? she needs to be able to read it from her Gobii. I have emailed support@kalahari five times, I have called the call center and spoke to three people. A certain, Peter September is one of the many incompetent staff that do not seem to know this product nor how to resolve this problem.
My husband also bought me a Gobii from Bargain Books, and I am hesitant to order e-books incase I have the same problem. I can only imagine to problems we'll encounter if we send these items back and try to get our money back for these two Gobiis not to mention the money spent on an e-book we cannot read.
I am in retail myself and I am absolutely gobsmacked atthis incredibly bad service.
