The sign says quite clearly "Baskets only", and yet the woamn (white) ahead of me had a trolley-full of groceries and clothing. She became fully aware of the agrieved looks she was getting, but quite unconvernedly proceeded to pack her purchases on the till counter. I approached the people at the Customer Service desk and asked why she was being served. The reply from the person in charge was "we can't chase customers away". So, because of the attitude shown by Pick'n'Pay, they have chased this customer away. I left my goods lying on the counter and walked out.
The point that Pick'n'Pay don't realize is that, by condoning the selfishness of one arrogant customer, they are chasing away many others waiting in the queue! A little quiet shop-floor research on their part would reveal the discontent being expressed by these people.
If they don't mean it, why label the till-point "baskets only"?
