Pick 'n Pay
Highlighting hygiene issue solicits bad attitude

Stopping in for my daily purchases at this store, I could not find a clean, hygienic shopping basket as they were all disgustingly filthy with very old liquid spills and blood leakage from meat packages. I took the pile of /- 10 baskets to the customer service desk and asked for the Customer Service Manager or the store manager. Solly, the store manager, arrived and as I was showing the disgusting state of the plastic baskets, one of them slipped from my hand and fell about 20cm to the floor.

Solly seemed to see this as an opportunity and immediately his attitude changed and he became belligerent and confrontational, accusing me of "throwing the basket on the floor and breaking them" and that I "would then complain about broken or insufficient baskets". Refusing to get gragged into an argument, I left the store.

This is the 3rd time in the space of 6 months that I have complained about the state of the baskets in this store. Suffice to say that I will never set foot in that store again, regardless of how they fix the problem, as I am not prepared to accept such behaviour and attitude from any store manager!

I strongly urge all who read this to boycott this store.
