Bad Corporate Governance/ Fleecing Customers Money

On Sat 27/4/2013 I purchased garden furniture from @ Home. I was told the delivery date would be on 6/5/2013. On Monday 29/4/2013 i phoned and cancelled my order and requested a refund. I was told that my refund is subject to a 10% handling fee amounting to R1100. I have escalated my issue to snr mgmt but no joy. When i questioned what for i was told because they "did something in the warehouse for me" that is the basis they are wanting to earn fees for doing nothing. I argued that the goods were not delivered to me and i cancelled a week before the scheduled delivery date. Their treatment of me reflects that larger retailers like @Home as part of the Foschini group that purports to follow good governance and blatantly ignores the CPA are truly unscrupulous retailers that are out to fleece customers for every dime with no regard for customers. What is ridiculous is their handling fee is 3 times their delivery fee, showing there is no real basis for the fee. Their company policies are there to ensure management increases their revenues in this backhanded manner to ensure their targets are met to secure their bonuses by practicing such underhanded tactics. Shame on you @Home
