Phoning late wen alarm goes off

I had an alarm activation at around 9pm. They only called at around past midnight to find out. Isn't that a bit ridiculous? Especially with crime at such a high rate at the moment. Their excuse is they had a lot of activations.
I feel that they should be more alert and have more cars around our area because the house robberies are escalating.
