We bought our house with an alarm, that the previous owners had, we didn't want the alarm. The agent told us the alarm is part of the house, and we didn't need to take over the monthly payment. As the prior owner's brother had the code and access to the house after we moved in, we requested Atlas to come out, change the code and explain how the alarm works in general, until transfer goes through. She mentioned that the sensors are not pet friendly, but no need to put pet friendly sensors in. We just need to lock up the cat in the spare bedroom during the day. I was very against it. She changed the code, checked that the panic buttons work. She then just asked for personal details, password and asked my husband to sign. Nothing was mentioned about 24 months. A month later I asked them to deactivate the alarm as we are not using it and was only informed then that we signed a 24 month contract. 6 months later and all they can say is they are looking into it. Atlas was on top of my list if we were forced to have an alarm, but never again. This is the worst service I have ever experienced.
