I had been thinking about cancelling my ADT Security Service contract although it was still a valid contract until April 2013. I knew there was some implication of a cancellation fee but needed it to be confirmed.
I sent a mail to request the cancellation amount so that I could make a decision. The email read: "Can you please send me a settlement amount if I should decide to cancel my account as of 1 November 2013."
I received an email back on the 20th of September 2013 with the necessary details I was requesting. I now needed to know how do I officially go about cancelling the contract... via email, mail, with a letter, with a simple email, notice period being one month, one day... what... and also When do I pay the money. I asked as much in a reply email to the agent assisting me... to date - no response.
So yesterday, 1 October 2013, I decided to call the customer centre... WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. The agents don't really know the answer to my questions.
I just need an answer on what the process is to follow:
1. How do I cancel this contract asap.
2. When do I pay the fees
3. What is the revised amount now, since I have paid for another full month of Octo
