I moved from Ballito to Nelspruit & had to rely on the internet to find a place to rent. I saw several places on the internet, but had to find a place that was pet friendly as I have a cat. I saw an ad on a website & contacted Chas Everitt via e-mail & dealt with Michelle & Roelene who assured me that the complex was definately pet friendly. Although the place was much smaller, I decided to take it as it is pet friendly. Unfortunately they neglected to mention that it is right next to a very busy highway (Kaapsehoop road) with constant traffic and trucks right through the night. The 1st Monday after I had moved in Roelene visited me with a pre signed form saying everything in the flat was in order & urged me to quickly sign it as she already checked that everything was fine. She then mentioned that the complex was not pet friendly, but I should keep quiet about having a cat, as the owners of the flat also had cats & nobody ever said anything about it. I spend R 25000 to move my furniture & paid the deposit of over R 11000! I constantly stress about people finding out about my cat & struggle to sleep with the traffic noise. Who is going to find another place and pay all my costs?
