I applied for a property to rent through the agency, they took R300 which is non-refundable. I had a listing at one of the credit bureaux's which I made them aware of. I advised the agent that I was in the process of having the listing removed off my profile as well. After they declined our application I asked the agent if we could meet with the principal, as my fiance really liked the property and couldn't understand why he was refusing to negotiate. We made an appointment to meet him, only to go there and he just left knowing about the appointment. We then rescheduled for the following day. We waited in his reception for about 20 minutes and then we finally went into his office where we had a chat about my listing and we recommended we put a double deposit down. I even had my father stand as a guarantor who is a very good payer with excellent credit ratings, not that it places me in a better standing however they should feel secure enough that if anything was to happen they won't be affected. And the rental was less than what I was currently paying and I was never late. He then said he would call me the following day. I never received a call. He ignored my calls.
