I used Shaz Properties to rent out my house in Riebeeckstad, Welkom. At the end of the year I made the decision not to use the Agency any more and would rent the house directly to the tenants still in the house. I spoke to the tenants who were happy that I personally took over the rental contract. Some of the reasons for no longer using the agent is the constant late payment of the rent (Not the tenants fault), never contacting me in a year, not relaying tenants concerns and requests to me.
I informed the agent, Sharon van Eeden, that I would no longer be using her services at the end of the rental contract and that she could pay the tenants deposit and Lights and Water deposit over to me on behalf of the tenants.
It has now come to light that a Deposit on the house was never taken, Lights and Water Deposit is sitting on another property. This is Breach of Contract.
The Estate Agency Board says she, Shaz Properties, was last registered in 2011.
We now sit with a problem that the tenants nor I can get the Deposit from Shaz Properties and the tenant must now pay me another deposit or he must vacate the premises.
I have now had to get Lawyers involved.
BEWARE of this Agency.
