We bought our house from Rawson Properties, agent Hesdarie Uys, in Paarl recently. Since then we have had nothing but issues with the service received. Firstly, the house was sold to us on a plot of 673 square meters. When we submitted building plans, we soon learned that the plot was in fact only 487 square meters. This therefore means that we cannot do all the alterations that we planned, as we now did not have enough space. When we contacted Rawson, they said that it was not their fault that the property was registered incorrectly and that they have no onus to ensure that the size of the property as registered is in fact correct.
Secondly, there was a leak in the shower that was not disclosed to us upon viewing the property. They sent out a plumber to "fix"this problem. He tried to fix it, but the problem remains. We have been struggling for months, and they are merely passing the buck to the plumber. We did not appoint the plumber, rawson did, and as such they should be responsible for him to complete the job and fix the leak. They have now just stopped answering when we call! This is really pathetic service.
They also had to remove a wooden deck, this was not done.
