Department of Labour
Letter of Good Standing

We have submitted our Return of Earnings online long before due date, during March 2013. Our letter expired on 31st March 2013. We received our assessment and paid the amount due. On 4th April 2013 I fax a letter requesting the letter of good standing with proof of payment to the labour department. I tried for days to phone the call centre to verify that they have received my request. I have not been able to get through on the phone lines. Three days ago I found an e-mail address and send the request via email. Today I have been lucky and managed to speak to a lady in the call centre. She confirmed receiving the email but now I have to wait 5 working days for the letter of good standing. It takes 5 days to process. I need that letter urgently therefore we've completed the return of earnings and make the payment well in advance. Why do they have a direct fax line for these requests if they do not process the requests unless we phone? That request has been lying there for 2 weeks without anybody attending to it and now I still have to wait another 5 working days. The service is just unacceptable.
