Hermanus Provincial Hospital
Staff who have lost their passion for patient care

On the 21st December my girlfriend dislocated her elbow in a fall, we saw our local GP in Stanford who recommended us go to Hermanus Provincial Hospital for Xrays. The quality of care and service was appalling. There was no triage as there were numerous out patients but all confirmed they had been sitting for over an hour with no staff asking nature of issues to prioritise. In the following hour we waited no staff came to the front but were sitting in an office having xmas goodies. An off duty staff nurse came to drop off some more food stuff and told the staff there were people waiting but it took them a further 30 minutes before the one staff member came round and didn't apologise for the wait or talk to patients waiting just went into her office. After a further 30 minutes and my girlfriend being in a large amount of pain, I asked how long it would still be and if we could not get the xrays sorted while waiting but was told there are no xrays on the weekend and had to come back Monday.By this time i had had enough of the staffs attitude towards patients and went to medi clinic next door where we were dealt with within 45min incl xrays and doctor and on our way home...
