I have been waiting for City of Joburg to rectrify my account since 2010 March and pay my refund. Property was registered under my name in 2008 and deregistered in 2011 March but City of Joburg had incorrectly billed my account as they had my tariff on vacant land instead of residential. I was advise by my attorneys that to sell my house I have to get a clearance certificate. I got amount for R7661.00 initial to update the account for me to obtain the clearance certificate from a consultant called Seipati. I was billed R335.81 under a vacant land instead of R105.74 for residential. My lawyers Richard Cassim and Associates advise if I want the process to start I have to pay the amount outstanding by then it was R8604.15. I paid the amount and obtain the clearance certificate in February and the Property was deregistered in March not sure about the date. Since 2010 I have beem enquiring through their call centre and walk ins at Thuso House i have reference numbers they always promise to rectify. Account has been adjusted but not from the inception of the account, I have spoken to Edwin as well from COJ promised to resolve this matter only to dissappea
