Home affairs does it again

I went to Randburg Home Affairs Department in the Beginning of December last here to have mine and my daughter's last name changed to my marriage to her father. The filling of forms was easy. When I got to the counter they would not even consider my application for a tempary ID as their machines were down so they only capture my application for a ID book. I have now phoned twice in the last 4-5 weeks to find out how my application going to be told that they have lready changed my surname but that "Head Office has not acknowledged my application", then who may I ask had the authority to change my surname? Secondly i Have been enquiring as to the application we filled in for my daughter only to be told today that even though we stood in the Randburg offices and handed our the forms in, gave finger prints, the staff member handling the documents DID NOT enter them into the system. I now have to go back and go through the process again. Nevrmind that i Have to take off work and costs me in petrol and all that. This is not the first time the department of Home Afairs has been shocking 2 years ago i had to battle for a year before i got a New ID book when i changedsurname to my dad's.
