Department of Home Affairs
Treat us like you would like to be treated

I handed my ID app in Feb 2013 at Colesburg branch. Requesting the spelling of my name and my Surname to be changed to my marriage surname. They told me this will take 8 to 9 months because i am change the spelling of my Name. I found this outrages but now what can i do. I then after a month followed up as i saw on the internet there was no record of me requesting anything, just to find out my application has been send back to the colesburg branch because they need finger prints (this was not done first time around as they said its not needed). No one called to inform me that my Application has already been laying two weeks at the branch. Any way i go through with that and it gets send back. I inquired two weeks ago just to find out after 8 months my application was send back to the branch, which the branch says its headoffice fault they only changed my surname and not my name so they had to send it back to head office for them to start the process of chaning my the spelling of my Name. I call the local branch again today as the call centre is USEless and still they cant tell me anything. Tommrow on the 18 Sept it will now be nine Months later. I NEED HELP or someone to step in ASAP
