I have been to the department of Home Affairs for more than a times on the same issue, my dad used to work for home affairs back in the 90;s and after I was born he applied for a birth certificate without informing my mother about it and at that time my mother had also applied for a birth certificate for me using her own surname as they were never married, when my dad passed on he used my other certificate to fill in the inheritance forms, so when I went to the High Court they told me to go to the department of Home Affairs to get a confirmation letter because my names and surname on my ID is not the same as the information on the inheritance papers, when I went to home affairs they told me to fill in some forms I did but they later told me they can't help, I went there again and this time they gave me forms to take to my Primary school and Hospital where I was born I did that and later brought back the forms but this time around they told me they can't help me I should go and fetch my dad I told them he is deceased and they told me to go and wake him up because he is they only 1 who can prove that the birth certificate is really mine, I left home affairs in tears again.
