On Monday, 16th of June I went into a Saverite Store to withdraw money from an ATM Machine situated within the store. The machine is one of those that give you just the slip and you take it to the cashier and they give you the cash from the till. To my surprise I was told that I have to purchase something in the store in order for me to be given my money. What breaks my heart is that as it is the middle of the month, I withdrew the last cash I had from my account for my travelling. I need to know how ethical is it that these people could force people to do this? The Saverite is situated by the taxi ranks and you can imagine how much this store makes from this ****. I had an altercation with the lady at the till, who seems to be the owner and warned her that I was going to have the matter reported. she was not fazed by that as she claimed to have been reported in the past. I would appreciate hello peters' intervention in this matter. One more thing, the ATM is a big screen with no privacy, as I was making use of the machine, the cashier was looking right at the screen and seeing everything. Everyone has a right to their privacy, whether or not the ATM is situated in someone's store.
