I paid double!!

Today me and my husband visited Ackermans and bought 2 jerseys at the store. At the till point they put through his card but on their machine it showed declined. We then paid cash for the items and left the store. After about 5 minutes we got an sms from the bank that this transaction in deed did go through his bank account. We went back to the store to ask what should happen now as we paid cash and the transaction went through the bank account. Lebo then said that their is nothing they can do and we should wait 24 hours and then come back to the store because maybe it would reverse itself as on their side it is declined. I said that I really can not come back to the store and if their is nothing we could do. She then said we have to go and get bank statements on Monday to show that it went through the bank account and send them this as proof and then only will the money be refunded. After our incident she proceeded to use 2 more customers card with the same thing happening!! They should really alert their customers that their is a fault on the machine as we all have to go through endless trouble to get money back that is not theirs!!
