Since 20th June 2013 we have been trying repeatedly and unsuccessfully to renew my 92-year old mother's subscription to the Sunday Times and The Times. Renewal was made telephonically, giving her bank debit card details. Despite repeated assurances that payment was on their system I received an sms on 22 August 2013 to say that delivery had been suspended. In response I phoned the call centre on 23 August 2013 and again was given an assurance by consultant Elizabeth Nelson that there would be a delivery this Sunday. THERE WASN'T. My mother was distraught. She lives in a home for the elderly, is deaf, and the newspaper is her life-line. I cannot believe the sheer inefficiency. More importantly, this has led to continuing distress for my aged mother.
